Most of that advice came from people who've never run an investigation or sat with someone through the worst week of their working life.

Aveliara exists to close that gap. Not with another tool demo. With a practice you can trust, built for the way you already work.

I'm Kimberly Washburn, DBA. More than thirty years in HR and leadership, and most of it was spent where the stakes were human and the budgets were tight.

I led HR for two rural hospitals, a public hospital district and a regional center serving a rural population. For a home health and hospice nonprofit, a federally qualified health center, United Way of King County, and a mental health center serving African American youth. Different missions, one throughline. People doing work that mattered, and an HR leader they could trust to get it right.

There was also a formative stretch at Microsoft, where I learned to test new technology inside my real work long before anyone called it best practice. So I'm comfortable adopting tools early. I just care more about the people using them.

For a long time, all of that expertise lived in two places. My head, and one paycheck.

My first plan for a side business was in HR, the field I knew best. Then a new role created a conflict of interest, and I had to pivot hard. I'd put time and identity into one direction, and suddenly I was starting over. It was the kind of moment that makes you wonder if you're behind.

Then AI clicked. Not as hype, not as fear. As a practical tool I was already using, quietly and consistently, in my full-time work and my own building. I watched it turn "this will take me hours" into "wait, that took twenty minutes." And I saw the gap. What these tools can do, against what most capable professionals believe they can do. The noise was keeping good people stuck.

So I built Aveliara in Bend, Oregon, as the guide I wished I'd had. Someone who reads between the lines and walks alongside you, not from a pedestal.

I'm a lifelong learner who finds this genuinely fun. I'm not here to turn you into a tech person. I'm here to help you put AI to work in a way that still sounds like you, protects your standards, fits your real life, and gives you your time back.

That's the whole point. Not the tools. You.
